GENERAL INFORMATION – IFAA World & Regional Championships 2021

Although we are positive that by the time you must start your journey to the Events, regulations to control the pandemic situation will be more relaxed, we want you to be aware of the following:

• Classification Scores and score card entry requirements for the WFAC, respectively for the WEBHC, are relaxed due to the lack of opportunities to shoot last year.  In practise we are also accepting 3-Year-old scores – If you had last year valid scores, then you are also fine for this year.
  
• For your travel and accommodation arrangement, it is your own responsibility to make sure you have a flexible cancellation clause in the agreement with your travel / accommodation provider, allowing cancellation your bookings and have your payment refunded or at least the bigger portion of it.  Such clause shall allow you to cancel up until two (2) weeks before the event as a minimum.
  
• Make sure that you have travel insurance that covers the following items:

  – Travel cancellation due to personal reasons. (Sickness, unemployment, etc.)

  – Trip cancellation.

  – Foreign Health Insurance (make sure it does not include a “pandemic exclusion clause”).

  – Some insurance companies are offering Corona Care packages providing you with extra coverage in case of quarantine, costly testing requirements etc.

• IFAA supports the organisers of the Championships to increase planning security for Participants and Volunteers by agreeing with the relevant Authorities on a Pandemic Management Concept. As this is work in progress, we will provide you with updates on a monthly base or more frequently if so deemed to be necessary.
  
• For both Events – WEBHC and WFAC – a Go / No-go decision will be made in April, based on the progress of the approval of the Pandemic Management Concept.
  
• Mid of May for France and end of May for Estonia, we will update the Event Status for your information. If by this date strict travel restrictions are still in place that would not allow Archers from Non-European Member Associations joining the tournament, the Status of that Event will then be downgraded to a Regional Championship only.
  
• For Regional Events later in the year or early 2022, we will publish a programme latest End of June.

Details on the agreed Management Concept will be published by end of March, latest mid of April.

Delegates of Member Associations are invited to contact our Pandemic Management Workgroup to receive updates on recommended management strategies for National Events and for individual training.  Regional Chairpersons may also participate in the Workgroups official meeting sessions.

WBHC / EBHC – FRANCE

The European Bowhunter Championship has been postponed from 2020 to 2021. It was agreed with Australia, the initially awarded Host for the WBHC 2021, that France is to host a combined Regional and World Championship and Australia will host the WBHC 2023 instead.The dates are now 2nd of July – Start of Registration to 10th of July – Closing & Award Ceremony.Key Dates:April 7th – Update on status Pandemic Management Concept; Go/ No-Go Decision by IFAA Executives.April 30th – Closing of Registration for Non-European Participants.May 15th – Status update on Event – Decision on Tournament Status by IFAA Executives.May 30th – Update on Pandemic Management Concept.June 15th – Last update on Championship – related topics.

WFAC – ESTONIA

As previously notified, the World Field Archery Championship has been postponed from 2020 to 2021.The dates are now 23rd of July – Start of Registration to 31st of July – Closing & Award Ceremony and Banquette.Key Dates:April 30th – Update on status pandemic management Concept; Go/ No-Go Decision by IFAA Executives. If progress on Pandemic Management Plan acceptance allows, the decision will be made earlier.May 15th – Status update on Event – Decision on Tournament Status by IFAA ExecutivesMay 30th – Closing of Registration, changes to registrations & resolution of the waiting listJune 15th – Last update on Championship – related topics

WIAC – ENGLAND

Due to the pandemic lockdown conditions and the uncertainties in place it was decided to cancel the WIAC 2021.For the WIAC 2023, England has the first right to refuse as host to made use of until 7th of May 2021. Other interested Member Associations are invited to express interest until 7th of May 2021.

AFRICAN REGION

We will inform about upcoming Regional Championships as soon as we can secure hosts / organisers.

ASIAN REGION

We will inform about upcoming Regional Championships as soon as we can secure hosts / organisers.

EUROPEAN REGION

EFAC – Hungary

Due to the postponement of the WFAC from 2020 to 2021, it was agreed with Hungary not to host a European Field Archery Championship this year. Unfortunately, Estonia does not have the resources to provide a combined Regional & World Tournament, therefore, different to France, we will have a WFAC only.

EIAC – Finland 2022

The registration page has been opened by the organiser in good will but pre-mature. We have requested to put all archers registered up till date on a early bird waiting list.

As per IFAA policy the registration for Events opens one (1) year in advance only.

EBHC – Finland 2022

Finland has past the first level of award last year and seeks final approval of their bid by the European Council Meeting later this year.  As for the Indoor Event, Finland has appointed a coordinator to the IFAA Pandemic Management Workgroup, assisting host and organiser to provide a tailored Management Plan to the relevant Authorities.

OCEANIA REGION

Due to the Pandemic situation, Pacific Regionals have been cancelled.

We will inform about upcoming regional Championships as soon as we can secure hosts / organisers.

NORTH AMERICAN REGION

We will inform about upcoming Regional Championships as soon as we can secure hosts / organisers.

SOUTH AMERICAN REGION

Hosts for the upcoming events have been appointed:

SAFAC 2021 – Argentina / October 2021 / venue to be confirmed.

SAIAC 2022 – Brasil / date to be confirmed / Campinas City.

SABHC 2022 – Date & Venue to be confirmed.
